Summer Mae Swimwear is Affordable Totally Worth Every Penny!

Fairly early on in my pregnancy, around the start of my third trimester, my clothes started getting tight, the baby was sitting low in my pelvis, and I’m a person who already carries my weight in my belly, styles these days lean towards high-waisted, so I outgrew many of my regular clothes early on. Thus began my hunt for clothes! I would need casual pieces, work clothes, gym clothes, and maybe even a few nicer outfits, with that in mind, I’ve gotten clothes from Amazon, Target, Old Navy, StitchFix, Seraphine, Summer Mae, Pink Blush, Angel Maternity, Mother Bee Maternity, Fabletics, Madewell, Etsy … I’m sure I’m forgetting some more that I’ve tried, but I’m reviewing them all!!

I’ve absolutely LOVED my Summer Mae swimsuits — bonus, they’re pretty much all under $40, which is super difficult to find! A nice benefit is that you can shop direct from the website (and get 15% off your first order), or you can add the suits right to your Amazon cart.

We decided sort of last minute to use Flytographer to get maternity photos taken while on our BabyMoon in Maui, and literally while on the way there, I saw this Pinterest post where the woman was in a swimsuit and the dad was in regular clothes and I fell in love with them, knowing it was the exact shoot that was right for us — thankfully I’ve been basically living in this Ruffle Lace Up V-Neck from Summer Mae and we got the most gorgeous photos!! (I highly recommend checking out the service for your next vacation!! It’s like Airbnb but for professional photographers <3 ) **this exact color is on sale on amazon for only $20 right now!

I love this Off-the-Shoulder Flouncy lemon-y suit! It’s the most expandable and is pretty full coverage, but I feel feminine and fun in it, plus it comes in a variety of fun and floral patterns and has removable straps for when you want to splash around in the waves. **this exact pattern is on sale on Amazon for $18.

The most basic of my bunch is this Tie-Front High Cut one piece. It’s a classic, and it’s nice that I could tie the front tighter when my belly wasn’t quite as big.

I did also try out a high-waisted two-piece, because one of my pregnant friends who is about my height and due just 11 days after me SWEARS by them, this style is just so darling on her and beautiful on the models, but I just found that it was a style that really didn’t work on me. I can totally vouch for the one-pieces though!!

More on our BabyMoon, Flytographer / Maternity Photos, and how to care for your belly after a beach day coming soon.
